Hi there, I'm Deborah Hinde
I live in a cottage and work from a repurposed double garage in rural Waikato. I have the ultimate studio space with views of the surrounding rolling farmland and our own small olive grove!
Many years ago I worked with design studio's, publishers, advertising agencies and manufacturers, but I always dreamed of illustrating picture books. This dream finally came true in 2002 when I illustrated A Kiwi Night Before Christmas by Yvonne Morrison (Scholastic NZ, 2003).
Since then I've enjoyed illustrating many more books for different publishers both in New Zealand and Australia.
In 2014 I started writing and illustrating my own stories and publishing them under PictureBook Publishing, In between book projects with publishing houses and independent publishers I paint original illustrations and turn some of my book illustrations into prints.
